Last month, I decided to take a decidedly analog approach to upgrading my space to personally use the project I’ve dedicated nearly 3 years to. Armed with nothing but a Leatherman multi-tool, some drills, hundreds of feet of 14/4 speaker wire, an AmpliPro, and a dream of whole-house audio nirvana, I set out to transform my humble abode into something more audible, filled with chaotic toddler dance parties and late night chill sessions.

Deeper dive into the AmpliPi API
AmpliPro hosts an open, well documented API to control what streams are playing to what zones. This is the second post in a series of blog posts introducing AmpliPro’s API; if you haven’t read our first article, you probably should! In this post, we will go deeper into some of the AmpliPro concepts, and at the end of this article play a track from the internet across all zones using a bash script as an alarm for an intruder alert 🦹 (Triggering this script is left as an exercise for the reader.

Support Tunnels, how do they work?
What is the support tunnel? The Support tunnel is an easy and secure way to give Micro-Nova access to your AmpliPro. This allows us to provide diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software issues. By using a support tunnel, authorized Micro-Nova engineers can gain secure, logged access to your AmpliPro. By using this capability, the engineer can significantly reduce the time and effort required to resolve issues, eliminating the need for multiple email volleys or phone calls.
